Serendipitous
After rowing around the harbour islands yesterday, I came back into the harbour and eventually alongside the guvvie. I saw an interesting view of the wharf with a house in the background. Some vertical matching lines I wanted to capture with my camera. As you can imagine, the dinghy is moving as I'm trying to get the lines where I want them. I had taken three shots when they lined up perfectly ... and then this person walks into the frame. Part of me grimaced, but the better part of me was happy to have a living being in the shot. Who cares about vertical matching lines anyway? So I get the shot and row on toward my cove. On the way I saw my friend David working on the new dock he's putting up, so I stopped for a chat. I was sitting there backing water and going on about this and that when the woman from the guvvie appeared. As it turned out, she (Debbie) and David know each other and had somewhat to chat about. So I was able to meet her and get permission to post this nice picture of her. Also I found out she is writing a book! May she have great success! Okay, just a daily sort of occurrence in the village, but one you would miss if you were staying inside all winter, so this was another reason I felt pleased with myself for making the effort to get the boat out of the woodshed and into the water that day. Simple pleasures, eh?
