Rock Reflection DSC_2078
If Hard-Hearted Were Not What We Think
If at our heart centres a rock did abide
By fire it would have been refined
By inner fire
The fledgling fires that outwardly appear would pale
Cruel cold would not offend
Indifference into luminous love would grow
Below the fringes of the sea would bow
A crown of autumn brilliance would adorn its brow
And there would be no fear of dying
No depth would be too deep
No expanse too wide
If at our heart centres this rock did abide
If only it did and if only it does
Then maybe it is and then maybe it was
And always and ever for sure it would be
