Running Man
They say you have to walk before you run
but once he got the walking done
and that did not take long
he ran and would not stop
There was no resting in the recipe
He heard as if their words were blurred
slow down you've got to eat you've got to drink
you've got to love for god's sake man
but he no longer understood
His only language had become the wind
He ran until there was nowhere to go
If they had said there was a time to swim
their words fell far behind and lay like gasping fish
He ran until the ocean took him
He was the running man till then.
