Alone on the Barrens
I decided to make my New Year's Eve photography ramble afoot rather than in the car, and was glad I did. Along the High Head trail are not only spectacular views of the ocean, but also of some very unusual vegetation. I particularly like this gnarly, hardy windswept evergreen alone among the rocks. There is great spirit in that tree. I feel I tapped it just by observing it. May great spirit be yours too in 2017.
