Lawn Chairs in Winter

"I don't remember sitting there."
"Well, we did. You were very charming."
"You'd think I would remember."
"No. I wouldn't think that anymore."
"They're awfully red, those chairs."
"Maybe it's the snow."
"What?"
"Maybe it's the snow. It was summer then. There wasn't any snow."
"Was there fog?"
"I do believe there was. Yes. But only out over the water."
"And the fog horn was sounding."
"Yes, we could just hear it from here."
"Could we? Did we? Did it sound like an old cow caught in a fence?"
"It's coming back to you. You said that very thing. And then you proposed."
"I said that very thing. And then I got out the ring."
"This very ring."
"It's a very nice ring. I hope you know I could hardly afford it."
"You were lucky you did. You couldn't have made it without me."
"Have made what? Have made what? I'm getting cold. What are we doing here?"
"You wanted to come. We made special arrangements."
"Who did you say you were? I don't think I like all this snow."
"Oh, my love. Oh I ... I know. Don't get upset. I'll take you back."
"Please, take me back."
"Take my hand. There."
"It's a nice hand. Nice ring, too. They ought to put those chairs away. Those chairs were made for better weather. If it were better weather, I might just sit in one. And maybe you could sit there by me. You're very pretty. What's your name?"
