Breezin' Up

Back in the last century, I was bringing a newly purchased old wooden yawl from New Brunswick to Prospect, which meant a trip down the Bay of Fundy and up the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia. For one leg I had an old fishing captain with me. We got into some rough weather, with what I would have called high winds. I said, "What do you think, Cap'n?" He said, "She's breezin' up." I never forgot that downplaying of difficult circumstances, and to this day will glance at a stormy sky and an ocean putting on its dancing shoes and think, "Yessir, she's breezin' up," and have a quiet chuckle at the things I've seen and heard.
