Life's Illusions
We were seated at the Luckett Winery, in the very best spot at the edge of the tent with nothing and no one between us and the vineyard and a spectacular view of the Bay of Fundy and Cape Split. The breeze in strength and temperature somehow achieved perfection and also kept any flying insects away. We had a red wine that was up to the mark, oysters on the half shell that were way over the mark, and fish tacos and calamari that completed the feast. Well-dressed people enjoying themselves were everywhere, likewise feasting, chattering and taking pictures of themselves or having others do it. I did it for a festive young woman and her friends and felt a momentary passion. And then took several photos of the vineyard and the humorous phone box among the rows and of course of Cape Split. But then I saw these clouds. And Joni Mitchell's song about clouds came to mind. And the particular line, "It's life's illusions I recall. I really don't know life at all."
I was so glad for that reminder from the clouds. The world is full of wandering miracles.
