Connections

We are all connected. And our connections are both our strength and weakness. Strength because they help hold us together through a life beset by so much harm through illness, injury, old age, poverty, hunger and so many other things and then by death. Weakness because, not acknowledging that we only exist through our connections, we believe that we are independent and can do as we please, not regarding the welfare of others.

Beyond our relative connections is our absolute connection, wherein we are not a small dock resisting the ocean but are the ocean and the sky and of the nature of space itself, to which no harm can come. So realizing our connections is pretty important. It might even be worth a little study and perhaps five minutes worth of meditation every morning. No?
