With the Snow Closing In I made it out. I didn't think I would. I spent an hour trying to cover my new boat with a tarp that was far too large, and then another hour getting the tarp off again and putting it away. But then my neighbour John came over and helped me get my loaner inflatable off the trailer and into the water, and that got me back on schedule. The electric outboard moved the inflatable along at a fair clip and soon I was out in the open sea, watching the lobster boats at work. The storm kept tapping on my shoulder with little bursts of snowflakes, till finally I took a hint and went home. A glorious outing. Warm clothes and a nip of homemade schnapps from another neighbour kept me warm. The storm gave me just time to tie up at my dock before beginning in earnest. And now, according to the forecasts, another week at least will pass before another such window offers.
