How The Climate Truly Changed
In the court of the king of winter
the applause was continuous.
No one had seen such magnificence.
The throne was unapproachably grand.
From the human realm, declared His Glacialness,
we need fear no discovery.
They think hearts must be warm
and passions glowing like a branding iron.
Hear, hear, indeed! All hail the color blue!
Blue our banners, blue our kiss almighty.
Let them suppose, nay persuade them
that we lead them to the flame divine -
Does their flesh not burn when stuck to ours?
Can they endure us without falling asleep?
Let them fear the fire next time.
We will come as summer. They will turn upon each other in their ecstasy.
Get to work on the costumes. What? They're half-finished already?
Load the wagons then. We'll fall upon them in their dreams.
