The Sea Life
The sea life is a good life and it's my life. Here is my rowing/sailing vessel Mojavon offshore of Prospect in the North Atlantic, heading toward Burnt Island in a moderate breeze that sent her skipping along in a fine fashion. I have good memories of my dory but this boat blows my mind. I have never gone faster in a sailboat. It is rather like windsurfing at times. Yet I can sit, there is a cabin, I can row when the wind dies, cook a meal onboard, anchor in secluded coves, take shelter inside her when the weather demands. And she is nineteen feet and weighs so little I can pull her up the ramp into the boathouse by hand. At 65. Meditation is good with rowing - it keeps you in shape at the same time - but sometimes to just sit and whoosh along with the spray flying, never heeling because of the pontoons, with nothing to do at all is just great. Mind, open sky, vast ocean inseparable. One day she will be too much for me. Till then, off we go!
