Soulful Symphony

In this damp the doors
swell up and drag and score the floor.
The maestro wonders what the hell is going on.
Nothing fits the way it should.
None of the instruments will stay in tune.
Out on the island, however, and endlessly
everything stays in tune with itself.
Every passage penetrates the vital point.
A natural chaos lifts the weary spirit.
The soil on the island is thin
but the melody deep as forever.
May the song of the island be yours.
