Clytemnestra and Beauregard

"What do you think we ought to do today, Beauregard?"

"I don't know, Clytemnestra. Fish?"

"That's what we always do."

"We could change rocks."

"We could."

"Okay then. Let's change rocks."

"Beauregard, it really makes no never mind."

"How's that, Clytemnestra?"

"I'm bored with fishing all day, every day. On any rock."

"You're bored with being in the great outdoors?"

"What's so great about it, Beauregard?"

"Well, it has rocks. And it has fish."

"I've got an idea. Let's go diving just for fun. Not for fish. Just for fun. Let's go down and just paddle around. We could see who can stay under the longest."

"Clytemnestra, hush!"

"Don't you hush me, Beauregard!"

"I mean, there's a fish!"

"Oh, well, I suppose one of us should..."

"You take it, Cly. I know you're bored. I'll take the next."

"Oh, Beau, you're such a gentleman sometimes."

She plunged and speared and swallowed and emerged and was soon beside Beauregard again. After all, it was not such a bad rock, she thought. Especially with a fish in your belly, still wriggling away.
