A Place to Meditate

Around the island's end
up into the basin and the palm of a granite hand
and drop the hook

Recite the words of wisdom from the little book
as ospreys watch from treetops and little fish break the glittering surface
in fear for their lives from bigger ones below

Sing songs of wisdom and make offerings to great and small and just be
and blend and afterwards take nothing away with you
at all
