Just As The Light Gets Right
Just as the light gets right, it goes.
There's this one moment of perfection.
The sunset parts the curtain of the coming storm
and all the birds ascend as if they knew
they had to go right then. Or who knows,
maybe there was never meant to be a light that lasts.
Maybe heaven is fool's gold. Maybe hell
is something else that we made up.
All I know is that the soul, it catches fire sometimes
and when it does there's glory stamped on everything.
Don't look for love from one who's gone.
To fill that void, love on and love everyone.
That's how the light, however flawed, remains
and how we become truly human
just as the light gets right and goes.
