Don't Waste Your Ammo on the Messenger

The image may chill
you to your bones but
if you think that you can kill
this messenger, you're not

seeing clearly, my friend.
Even more to the point
the messenger is not the end
and time is never out of joint

because the message, you see,
is just that what could never last
is once again freed from the past
the way rainbows relax in the sky.

Don't waste your ammo on the messenger, then,
but target Ego, all along the liar, envoy
and enhancer of all suffering
and one's own Death becomes a source of joy.

Don't invite the change but greet it.
Don't hate the messenger but meet it.
Let fear be the fuel that warms your heart.
It's been pure freedom from the very start.
