Sarah

Aside from my stories of Iceland, there was what really happened. It was a photography camp conducted by our extraordinary hosts from Ukraine, Skylum, whose software I use to process my own photos. To instruct us, they brought along some of the best professionals in the landscape photo business, including one Sarah Lyndsay, from Canada like myself. I would like to point her out today. In her own work, she does a famous sort of self-portrait where she appears before stunning landscapes in a flowing yellow dress. For us, she brought that dress and wore it for us to practice taking landscape shots with a human presence. And she did turn after turn on the frozen beach till I was certain she was freezing. Yet she kept smiling and asking, "One more time?" So here's my hero of that day. Although I nixed the yellow because I saw something else that I liked even more in black and white.
