Walk a Crooked Mile

Like a house along the Granite Coast,
I rest on an uneven unyielding ground
and therefore have a crooked stance

and all my life have walked a crooked mile
and taken many a crooked chance
and discovered what I love most

has nothing whatever to do with appearances
and everything with treasuring
every bend in the road
