Here Comes the Sun
Once, in a time of a grief and paralysis, I took a class in ikebana. I was the only man, and the conversations would end suddenly when I came in with my flowers and dour face. I don't remember much about ikebana except that it was one of a few initiatives I undertook that helped me heal. So today, decades later, while working in the yard, I took some daffodils and branches of blossoming forsythia and stopped what I was doing to make an arrangement to commemorate the ending of dark times. Yes, they may come again. Yes, they may be here now. Will they stay? Do they have the power? I don't think so. Not if we remember the light. And that deep down we always dwell there.
