Granite Coast Portraits
"Three-Stripe Rock"
Now, those from Lower Prospect or Terence Bay may have another name for this rock, but I don't know it. What I do know is that this rock is crucial to my navigation, because it marks an intersection among the islands where I can get lost or steer for home. So I can't go all anthropomorphic this time and assign the rock a face or a character. But it is significant and it is a beauty and I am bound to recognize it among my Granite Coast portraits. Because, who knows, if I didn't, one day it might change its stripes to spite me. And then where would I end up? So, please, give it up, my friends, for Three-Stripe Rock and for all navigational aides and acquaintances who help us get home when home is where we need to be getting. <3
