Sittin' on Top o' the World
Although there is no top nor bottom neither to this world, in Iceland one could feel differently. Mountains rising out of glaciers, the monumentality of that, and you right there with them, that gave a feel of having risen like cream to the very top. Yes, it felt good. It felt awesome. And though it was only a feeling and fleeting and insubstantial, there was that about it that in the recording left a trace. At least that's how it is with me when I look at this image I brought back. An uplift, almost a dizziness, as if I might fall off. Perhaps I did, for here I am in Nova Scotia once again, back at sea level. Skál, everyone! Raise a glass to the heavens! Be careful, however, as it might get slippery.
