An Old Man's Playground

When I was young, a shovel and a pail and sand
and my imagination were all it took to keep me entertained.
Now that I'm old enough to have retired
I've circled back to simple pleasures again.
A boat, the ocean and some rocking motion
and not even a traveler among far stars
knows greater wonder, or freedom of heart.
