Evening at the Bridge

Feeling the Golden Gate
Boil down to this

Having crossed over many while driving and walking
And under so many while also afloat

I welcome this bridge like a brother.
Dare I say a twin?

It’s old and it doesn’t amount to much yet
In the mirror the likeness

(the wear and tear and anonymity)
Feels fine, feels genuine, like a mother’s caress.
