Stages That Might Be Houses

Does anyone know the story of these fishing stages in Hackett's Cove that look like they might also be houses? Usually there is a separation. People live in one building and prepare for their fishing enterprise in another. These have such an inviting all-in-one look. With the soft light of the setting sun on them, I felt nostalgic for a life I had never had.
