Call of the Coast

The call of the coast is not always what we like to think of as 'profound'. Yes the big rollers booming against the granite cliffs will shake your own foundations. Yes the brisk ocean breeze blasting your hearing aids will make you think you have Jesus on the mainline. Yes the vault of sea and sky is like a sounding chamber of the soul. But sometimes it's just a young gull trying to let the world know it is there and that it matters. Which in its own way is profound and funny at the same time.
