Regal Strut

Even from the birds of Tek Chok Ling I get a teaching. This whatever kind of blackbird it is with its leonine grey mane is only a bird, and not a very big one, yet it struts as it walks, as if it were of noble family. And I thought to myself, yes, we could all walk with a bit of a strut if we are of noble family, and that means those who enter into the way of compassion for others. That is their family. But we benefit others by being humble, by not putting ourselves above them. So there is a sort of contradiction here. Pride and humbleness possible at one and the same time. So, realizing the excellent path of compassion that is to be humbly tread, we could do so with a strut, a sort of egoless pride in our way of being.

Why not? You can do it.
