Goose on Granite

Perched on top a lichen-orange-accented outcropping on Betty's Island, one of a pair of Canadian geese watched me row past. The companion was higher up on the same rock. It was early morning. The ocean breeze was bracing but, in the rays of the rising sun, beginning to warm. The local lobster boats were out making their rounds. I had some granola and a warm mug of tea. Not much was happening, and it was so fine.
