LONGING

So much longing
Do you know
Keeps me awake though
And ever vigilant for
I don’t know what
Beyond the daily bread
If I sink into it
Will I sink like a stone to the bottom
Or fall like a star in endless space
With nowhere to land
Luminous for no reason
Light just being light
And the dark being
Inconspicuous
Forevermore
