Blessings

At the abandoned house, we thought we might explore. I started over the bridge. The planks under my feet felt punky, as if they might give way and drop me into the creek. Which made me feel a warning so that I retreated and we all remained on the far side of this structure that had once been a dwelling. My grandson, in his youthful challenging spirits, heaved a stone into the creek. However, whatever presence might have been there, just beyond us, was not about to be moved. The silence swallowed up the splash without the slightest echo resounding. I didn't feel any evil, just a powerful insistence on solitude. So from my heart I blessed the place in its entirety, and we went on our way.
