Boats of Prospect

The boats of Prospect come and go. Mostly because people's needs change. This catboat is going because its mast was too tall. That makes the boat tender with the sail fully raised. She'll always be heeled a little beyond the comfort zone. Her predecessor was a beautiful yacht capable of crossing oceans but she was quite large and boats like houses need downsizing as we age and have our hands full and fuller. My own boats have changed and changed. However, there is always a boat. I know there are people in Prospect without boats and I know there are reasons for it. Perhaps one day I'll have one of those reasons. Perhaps one day soon. But for now, there just has to be a boat. Because there is the sea. And why would I be here if not to venture out? A man I knew named Victor kept on going out till he was in his eighties. The year he stopped, he died. That sounds all right to me. And when I come around again, if I'm the boat, well, I won't mind if sooner or later I get changed out too. Because that is the way of things, and I dig being one with the way.
