Pacific on the Atlantic

It's my friend Barbara's dinghy, one that she made. It lives in my boathouse and so we go out together sometimes, quietly except for those oarlocks that need to be oiled. I didn't feel like landing yesterday on any of the harbour islands and the the boat wouldn't stay still because the wind was up, so I found little patches of sheltered seaweed that would hold onto us long enough for me to take a frame or two. My friend Andy Sharp, a photographer in Texas, calls this sort of contemplative shooting 'medicinal'. And I believe he is right. It's hard not to be infected by the news of a sick world. So this is shared medicine. Be well, my friends.
