Stem to Stern
Gently, gently. Never be alarmed. But look, look closely. When was there a boat? In what instant was it born? At what instant will it actually cease? Precisely now. Or was it always just parts put together and given a name. And then the name given a name? Was she ever really Scarlet Lady? Sailors say she was and had a spirit of her own.
I am moved like a sailor, like a lover. Yet the facts are there. At the same time she's nothing, she's everything. And so when our hearts break, the universe shivers, yet nothing really happens at all.
Get as close as you can to the mystery. Then move in with all that you've got. Give thanks you discovered the key. For that is what is known as being genuinely human.
