Velveteen Workboat

In the children's story, the toy rabbit becomes real after being much used and abused, and therefore really loved. But that was the semblance of a living creature. How could a workboat, however sorely used, become any more real than it ever was? Perhaps it is just another children's story, but as it turns out, not only do such boats become more real, they make everything around them more real. And if it is a realness in a dream, it gives heart to the dream. It is the living breathing heart of the dream.
