Marisol on Saul Island w sig-bord DSC_8695
Harbour Row
In a pram a friend built, I rowed from my home (to the left of and beyond the red-roofed house) to Saul Island. It's the sort of outing I resort to when the weather is not consistently moderate enough to put my bigger boats in the water. She's fun to row. Her name is Marisol. I always look for the sandiest point on Saul's for a landing, so as not to scrape Marisol's bottom on the rocks. She's pretty too, so this post is ... "Spotlight on Marisol, ya'll, she's the queen of 'em all, ya'll..." I hope you know what song I'm referring to. Otherwise, you may just think I'm crazy. Of course, you may think that anyway. It's all right. Sometimes I do too. Otherwise I'm positive I'm irrevocably sane. When the water warms with summer, I'll swim around the harbour for my daily exercise. Which is really cool, but also still kind of cold, so I take a little bit of whiskey with me, and sit on a flat rock on Saul's and drink it. Which is maybe a little crazy. I mean, you know, if you're an exercise purist. Cheerful spring, everyone!
