Meditating in Milarepa's Cave
Everything is always changing. My mind too. I meant yesterday to present an orderly sequence of images of my trip to Yolmo and back. Today I decided to jump to the meat. So here is the cave at Yolmo where Milarepa meditated. And now me too. I must admit that in some things I am rather thick-skinned, or thick-headed, or what have you. I wasn't overwhelmed with emotion nor did I have any powerful meditation experience. I was simply very content to be there, of all places in the world. I stayed till all the butter lamps had burned down and had to be replenished by the ani (nun) who has that job. Then I sang some Milarepa songs and dedicated the merit and left. As far as spelunking is concerned, this may well represent the extent of my penetration into Mother Earth. As far as my practice is concerned, this was like a little heart kiss to seal a deal that was made a long time ago. May all the beings be happy.
