Without End or Beginning

When I look out my window
Forsythia and the spring making love yet again
Garner all my attention

Shameless shameless!
With that on the tip of my tongue
The dream of a life lived distracts me

One might say it is really just ocean
With a fishing stage and flapping flag
But I know better

It’s all background now, the focus softening
All the stories relaxing back into nowhere
All those promises of love lost forever

And only love itself, beyond subject and object,
Remaining, radiating, winking through a thousand tiny yellow stars
Unborn yet blooming in the endless and without beginning

Miracle
Of
Birth
