Cliffs of Prospect Harbour
Getting married by the sea is a magical thing, I think. I once looked out my front door to find a wedding taking place on my dock. But that's another story. Another time I walked out on my dock to find a wedding taking place on the lawn at the top of the cliffs in this picture. A lot of people were there. It was quite an affair and I was quite curious. I hadn't been invited so I rowed out to my sailboat in the harbour and hoisted myself up to the masthead for a better view. Later someone told me, "Sheesh, Jim, Texas Jim, Come-from-away Jim, around here you don't have to be invited, you just go!" I'm rather shy, I guess. I'm here thirty years now and I still like an invite. But I love knowing that things are otherwise. And I love the magic of the sea. So if you want to get married here, come ahead! You'll be doing an old man a favour.
