"Chagrin"
I couldn't believe it. There she was. There I was. I had only to ask. Will you dance? But then, as if she read my thoughts, she turned and looked at me. And I choked up. I'm sure my face turned red. She was too beautiful. "With you?" she was sure to reply. I didn't stand a chance. I felt myself turning to stone. When I looked up again, she was gone. After that I stopped caring. What if there was another girl for me? I came adrift. Years must have passed. Millenia. Eons. And now I've fetched up here. And I still can't forget.
There she was. There I was.
