Outhouse with a Chimney
The ocean swallowed me and spit me out. I guess I wasn't very tasty. Then I took a drive down south, across the continent and back, to heal. I gathered memories to take the place of that important one I lost, of how and when I crashed. In California my sister and I sorted out old family photographs. In Texas my son and I hauled junk and my daughter showed me how my old hometown had vanished and my great granddaughter and I played games together in which she won my heart and I won by losing. These were children I had lost or never known, so these replacement memories were a perfect fit. And I fell in love (or rather leaped) in Oklahoma. All this in tee shirt weather for the most part that I traded coming home to Nova Scotia for the winter I have known for the last quarter century which I guess you could call long john weather if you're into understatements. So it tickles me to take a picture of an outhouse with a chimney. So there you have it!
