Granite We Call It ...
...but what is it really? Obviously many smaller things welded together: bits of quartz and feldspar, mica, amphiboles, and other minerals. We call many things one thing on the basis of a temporary association. We call our own assimilation of parts a body. Throwing an activator into the mix, it then becomes Nancy or Huey or Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff. But what is it really? Appearing and disappearing in time which is relative, in periods we call long or short based loosely upon our own subjective perspectives, without any lasting basis, it's hard to call it anything that sticks. It's like a dream, like an illusion, seeming to be but lacking substance. And when you contemplate all these multitudes of dream beings hoping and fearing so intently and incessantly, grasping and pushing away so unceasingly and with such all-involving effort, and suffering so much and so endlessly, a compassion so intense as to be almost unbearable is quite likely to arise, at the same time as a fit of laughter that won't quit.
Being fully human we call it.
