Jade Leaves

When I am lost in my house
wondering and wandering and knowing I knew what to do
I stop and look at wherever I am
and there I am

among jade leaves
with the sun shining through me
succulent and voluptuous
and good on my own

while just beyond, outside the window
little birds are having little battles at the feeder
thinking they must
live or die
