Wild Rose by the Sea

The wild rose by the sea
Has no gardener and will not be clipped
To make a bouquet

Its petals will blow away
Or be dropped
In a momentary artful carpet on the grass

Neither to sadness or happiness
Is it useful to cling
Is what the wild rose knows
