Faces of Nova Scotia - The Excavator

He knows how to work with the earth and the water. His name is David Francis. For me he exemplifies Nova Scotia with his all-in work ethic, his incredible focus, and his ability to get difficult things done and done well. His face is deeply weathered, his smile is always ready to go, his excavator is like an extension of his body. Here he is working on the building of my new dock, putting one of the new cribs in place before he fills it with granite rock. He grew up in Shad Bay and lives there still. I'm proud to know him. His province is lucky to have him. Go David!
