Episode 100. Little Mac's Memoirs of Now - In the Valley Below
I have decided. I will head toward the sea from this valley. The end of the road is behind me. Trails on the hillside are all that is left. I will follow the way of the deer and the panther, the fox and the bear, with the arc of the sun as my guide. In the morning I will head away and in the afternoon go toward the light. And when I reach the Pacific, then I will go home. I trust that Delilah and Noah and Minnie and even Sir Barkie will be glad to see me, though I may get a scolding for making them worry. After all, I'm an old man. What business have I in the mountains alone? What if, way out here in the middle of nowhere, again I forget who I am?
In the valley below the sea breeze is exciting the trees and the afternoon sun is glitter on their swaying skirts. What a dizzying sight. I am in love again, dear Bertie, and I know you will not mind.
I think forty miles will see me at the coast. Or in your arms again. If it was a world of my choosing, and you had not moved on like the wind through the valley below.
