Red Shed Blue Ocean for web DSC_1045
The Ladder
She looked down the hill at the water, where the light was almost gone. She looked at the shed at the edge of the water, which was rich in the last of the light with its blood red wall and its bone white ladder.
As if she were a girl again, she imagined taking down the ladder and using it to climb out of her life. "Oh, but that will never do, Missy Miss. It's evening and the ocean is a soothing blue. Have patience. Soon the blue will come for you."
She sighed and set her rocker in motion again. It would have been more fun with the ladder. She might have met a different man and known a lasting love.
The colours were all beautiful, though. She let go of her imagination and just rested in the colours. While she could. Before the darkness took them too.
