Impression in the Fog
Though the boat will not move from its mooring
under the surface the fog is no deterrent.
Seaweed is moving with the current,
tide lifting and lowering,
lobsters being puzzled by
the one-way quality of traps.
No one down there is considering naps.
Life and death go on as always, if more slowly,
as we perceive slowness here above
who must endure both fog and love.
